About First Baptist Church

Who We Are

First Baptist Church is a loving and welcoming body of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose three-fold mission is to Exalt the Savior, Edify the believer and Evangelize the unconvinced.  In 2017 we will celebrate our 60th year serving Christ and others. We are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, The Baptist State Convention of Michigan and the Greater Detroit Baptist Association.

What We Teach

We believe that the Bible is God's Word to mankind and is infallible and inerrant in its original manuscripts.  We use both the Old Testament and the New Testament as the foundation for our faith and the inspiration for our daily lives.  We put those teachings into practice at home and at work.

Our Pastor

Pastor James Livermore has been pastor of First Baptist Church since August 2023.  Pastor James' educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries with a Biblical Languages minor from Pensacola Christian College, and a Master of Religious Education from West Coast Baptist College, Lancaster CA.  He has served in churches in Florida, Nevada, Minnesota and Michigan.  Pastor James' wife, Muriel leads our children's ministry.  They have four children.
